For the first time in 18 months, we were finally able to meet as a group in-person again! It was great to see so many of you in person again. The Townsend Lions Pavilion was the perfect spot for an outdoor meeting with physical distancing practices in place. We also had a number of members join virtually as we streamed the meeting on Zoom as well.
We heard presentations from Young Caregivers Association, True Experience and The Jennie Deagle fund (Community Living Haldimand). Members voted to make our group donation to Young Caregivers Association. Our $6,050 donation will be used to support the increased transportation and facility rental costs that their programs have now as YCA starts to offer in-person programming for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

We're so excited to share with all of you that we have reached a new donation milestone by collecting $6,000 in donations for Hobbitstee Wildlife Refuge! Hobbitstee was the recipient of our third meeting back in January 2017 when they received $2,500. Wow, have we grown!
We are so grateful for the support that has not only continued, but has also slowly grown over the past 15+ months during the pandemic. Thank you for sticking it out through our virtual meetings. At our May virtual meeting we also heard from: - Caledonia Community Foundation (for their Lights Along the Grand project) - Caledonia Food Bank We hosted our third virtual meeting with a "vacation" theme. It was great to see everyone wearing their vacation outfits that they won't get to use this winter - from sunhats, sunglasses, beach wear and leis to toques and goggles. Thanks for adding some fun to our virtual meeting!
The 3 organizations we heard from were: - Dunnville Hospital & Healthcare Foundation - Habitat for Humanity - Community Support Centre of Haldimand & Norfolk The Community Support Centre of Haldimand & Norfolk was the organization selected and received a donation of $5,500! The CSCHN offers a number of meal programs to help increase food security in our community. CSCHN was also the very first recipient of a 100 Women Who Care Haldimand donation from our first meeting in June 2016. It was great to see them selected again almost 5 years later! To learn more about CSCHN please visit www.cschn.org Pictured (left to right): Andrea Gee, CSCHN Executive Director; Andrea Personnic, 100 Women Who Care Haldimand; Tara Dinyer, CSCHN President & 1oo Women Who Care member 100 Women Who Care Haldimand met virtually again as we continue to follow public health protocols.
We heard presentations from:
The group selected Zachary's Paws for Healing to make our group donation to. Our donations will be used to support their foster pet program. This program provides care for pets while their owners are in hospital. The program has also been expanded to foster pets of abuse victims when they are unable to take their pet into shelters. Our members were so happy to hear the presentation from Donna of Zachary's Paws again and be able to make our group donation of $5,500 to Zachary's Paws for Healing!. Kim from United Way also joined our virtual meeting to share the impact our group's donation had on the United Way Stuff the Bus program. 100 Women Who Care Haldimand held our first virtual meeting on Zoom. We had over 35 participants and our three presenters join the call. Without any technical difficulties we were able to follow our standard meeting format of a 5 minute presentation followed by 5 minutes of questions from members. We used Zoom's polling feature so that everyone could vote for the organization to receive the group donation.
Thank you to our presenters for being flexible with us an presenting virtually. We heard from: - United Way of Haldimand-Norfolk (Stuff the Bus Campaign) - Haldimand Art Works - Haldimand and Norfolk Women's Services Our members chose to support United Way and collected $4,200 in donations for their Stuff the Bus Campaign. Thank-you to everyone who continues to keep this group going even during these uncertain times (I know - that phrase is overused, but it is so true!) See you virtually again in November! Our 16th meeting was scheduled for May 2020. With the COVID-19 pandemic surging, gathering restrictions coming into effect and many people being impacted being impacted financially by the pandemic, we made the decision to cancel our meeting. Instead we asked members to make a donation to their local food bank or favourite local organization and to let us know about their donation. We were happy to share that the group collectively donated more than $2,700 to local food banks. Many members also let us know that they had already reached out to local food banks or organizations to make donations when the pandemic hit - a great example of our caring group!
It has been a little while since this blog was last updated - let's get everyone caught up on our meetings!

Co-owners Jeff & Shannon were wonderful and generous hosts, supporting our group by donating some of the cost of the venue. Members enjoyed checking out the new brewery and sampling some beer. If you haven't been to Concession Road Brewing Co, you should check it out!
Our three organizations to present were:
