It has been a little while since this blog was last updated - let's get everyone caught up on our meetings!

Meeting 26 – November 2022
Our three organizations to present were:
  • Child Nutrition Network of Haldimand and Norfolk
  • Dunnville Youth Impact Centre
  • Haldimand County Spark Program
The Children’s Nutrition Network supports local student nutrition programs in elementary and secondary schools across Haldimand.

The Haldimand County “Spark” Mentorship & Grant Program will match selected applicants from the region with a mentor and provide a $3,000 seed grant to help participants take their tourism idea to the next level.

Ultimately the Dunnville Youth Impact Centre was the chosen charity to receive our largest donation yet of $8150!  The center delivers a welcoming and safe environment for students by providing recreational, educational, life skills programs and coaching and mentorship opportunities.
Our 100WWC donation will be used to support the DYIC’s upcoming bicycle initiative which aims to develop skills and confidence around bicycling, bike safety and maintenance.

Thank you to our members and we look forward to seeing you at our in person meeting on Monday February 13th at the Dunnville Youth Impact Centre

Meeting 25 – August 2022
We were excited to be back at one of our favorite meeting location Concession Road Brewing Co. in Jarvis.  Not only do they serve exceptional locally crafted beverages, it is a great spot for entertainment. Concession host’s special events, live music, trivia, murder mysteries and more.  If you haven't been yet, you should check it out!

This week, we had great presentations that were passionate and emotional.  United Way (Stuff the Bus Program) and Haldimand Norfolk Victims Services Haldimand-Norfolk-Mississauga’s Of The Credit First Nation.

Stuff the Bus is run by United Way of Haldimand and Norfolk.  The campaign supports over 600 children annually, providing school supplies to youth in need.

Victim Services were the successful recipient of our $7,200 donation.  This agency offers 24 hour, 7 day a week, crisis support, practical assistance, information and referrals to victims of crime, tragic circumstance and disaster.
These funds will put towards their Mobile Response System program in Haldimand. This personal tracking device can offer a safety solution to high risk victims of violence while at home or in the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Meeting 24 – May 2022
We heard presentations from True Experience, the Steven Young and Therapeutic Paws of Haldimand.
True Experience is a supportive housing and community work program located in the town of Dunnville.
The Steven Young Foundation provides relief to persons with medical expenses or personal costs not covered by OHIP or private insurance for health or medical need.

Ultimately Therapeutic Paws was selected as the recipient of the group donation of $8,000!  Therapeutic Paws of Canada (TPOC) is a volunteer-based, registered charity providing free therapy pet visitations to seniors, children and youth.  At this event, their goal was to raise funds in support of their children’s book, which discusses the life of Ernie and his work as a Therapy Dog
